MUNDAERNO
SOUTH URANIUM IOCGU PROJECT
EL 3853 MUNDAERNO SOUTH SA
Licence
Granted: EL 3853 23rd July 2007
Location: 385km northeast
of Adelaide
Area: EL 3853 52km2
Target:
Calcrete and roll-front sandstone hosted sedimentary
uranium deposits; iron oxide breccias and diatreme related
copper-gold-uranium-REE deposits
Commodities
Sought: Uranium, copper, gold, REE
Metallogenic
Province: Southern Curnamona Craton
Exploration
Philosophy:
Capital is searching for calcrete hosted uranium deposits
in Quaternary valley-fill sediments and sandstone hosted roll-front
type uranium deposits in Tertiary palaeochannels of the cover
sequence, as well as for iron-oxide bearing copper-gold-uranium-REE
(IOCGU) deposits and shear-hosted gold-copper deposits in
the basement.
Project
Status:
Four palaeochannels, which cross the licence area from SW
to NE, are forming the basis for the initial investigation
of the tenement. In 2008 the available regional airborne magnetic
and radiometric data were acquired and reprocessed under contract.
A series of target maps were
produced that have highlighted several areas of prospective
character within the tenement. Planned exploration will include:
regolith mapping; geochemical sampling; and drilling of selected
targets.
A drilling programme has been
designed and statutory approvals obtained from PIRSA. Joint
venture partners are actively being sought to participate
in the Project.
