COONALPYN
URANIUM GOLD-BASE METALS PROJECT
EL 3881 COONALPYN SA
Licence
Granted: EL 3881 6th August 2007
Location:
120km southeast of Adelaide
Area:
EL 3881 319km2
Target:
Uranium in skarn, carbonate replacement, calcrete and sandstone
roll-front deposits
Commodities
Sought: Uranium, gold, base metals
Metallogenic
Province: Southern Delamerian Fold
Belt and Murray Basin Cover Sequence
Exploration
Philosophy:
The Coonalpyn tenement covers a large acreage of underexplored
terrain that includes excellent conceptual targets for a range
of different commodities both in the basement and cover sequences.
The geological setting is similar to that in western Victoria
where a number of significant gold and base metal finds have
been made recently. The company is targeting uranium and base
metals in skarn and carbonate replacement type deposits, as
well as volcanic hosted base metal deposits and uranium deposits
in Quaternary valley-fill sediments and Tertiary palaeochannels.
Project
Status:
In the absence of high-resolution regional airborne geophysics
coverage, Capital acquired night time infrared satellite imagery
of the area in view of its successful application elsewhere
in the state. Previous exploration results have been reviewed
and drill testing of targets that emerged from the remote
sensing study is planned.
